Mandarin Re participated in the 29th Annual General Meeting of the Labuan International Insurance Association (LIIA) and the Bilateral Meeting with the Labuan Financial Services Authority (Labuan FSA), where industry leaders, regulators, and market participants gathered to discuss developments shaping the future of the (re)insurance sector.
Held from 19–20 May, the meetings brought together stakeholders from across the market to exchange perspectives on regulatory developments, market resilience, underwriting trends, and the growing importance of regional collaboration within the insurance and reinsurance landscape. The discussions reflected the increasing role of Labuan IBFC as a platform connecting Asian and international risk markets.
Against a backdrop of evolving risk and heightened geopolitical tension, the sessions highlighted the need for stronger industry coordination, sustainable market growth, and continued innovation in risk transfer solutions. The gathering also reinforced the importance of maintaining close engagement between regulators and market participants to support long-term market confidence and stability.
Mandarin Re was represented by Redzal Mohamad, Andreas Antoniou, Elena Tuyakova, and Vivian Fung Nyuk Lin, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to supporting dialogue and collaboration across the regional (re)insurance market.
The event further strengthened Labuan’s position as a trusted and forward-looking international insurance and reinsurance hub, supported by ongoing engagement between industry stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
A key highlight of the event was the reappointment of Annie Undikai and the LIIA Council. Mandarin Re also extends its congratulations to Annie Undikai and the LIIA Council on their recent reappointment and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing the long-term development of the Labuan (re)insurance ecosystem.
Mandarin Re acknowledges the efforts of both Labuan FSA and LIIA in sustaining this platform for dialogue and development. Their continued commitment plays a central role in strengthening the Labuan IBFC ecosystem and supporting its long-term positioning as a trusted and forward-looking (re)insurance centre.
