Mandarin Re Participates in Asian Banking & Finance and Insurance Asia Summit – Malaysia 2026

Event

Mandarin Re took part in the Asian Banking & Finance and Insurance Asia Summit – Malaysia 2026, joining a cross-section of industry leaders, regulators, and practitioners to explore how financial services, and insurance in particular, are evolving in response to a shifting risk landscape.

Representing the company, Chief Executive Officer Redzal Mohamad engaged in discussions focused on the structural changes reshaping the industry. Across sessions, one theme surfaced repeatedly. Insurance is moving toward a more data-driven, technology-enabled model, where underwriting is increasingly supported by artificial intelligence and real-time analytics. These tools are not just improving efficiency, they are changing how risk itself is understood and priced.

At the same time, the conversations did not lose sight of something more fundamental. As digital capabilities expand, trust and transparency remain central to long-term success. Several speakers pointed to a growing expectation from clients for clearer communication, faster response times, and solutions that feel tailored rather than standardised. In that sense, technology is not replacing the human element, it is raising the bar for it.

The summit also brought attention to the widening scope of risk. Health trends are becoming more complex, climate-related exposures are intensifying, and economic conditions remain uncertain across many markets. These pressures are pushing insurers and reinsurers to think beyond traditional coverage structures. There is a growing need for solutions that are flexible, responsive, and designed with a longer-term view of resilience.

For Mandarin Re, participation in the summit offered an opportunity to stay closely aligned with these developments while exchanging perspectives with peers across the region. The discussions reinforced a clear direction. Sustainable growth in insurance will depend not only on adopting new technologies, but on how effectively the industry responds to changing expectations and an increasingly complex risk environment.

As the sector continues to evolve, Mandarin Re remains focused on contributing to solutions that support clients in navigating uncertainty with greater confidence.
