Asmida joined Mandarin Re on 1st June 2020 based in our Kuala Lumpur office, bringing with her 18 years of experience in the National Insurance Market. Asmida’s insurance career began back in 2002 employed as the Customer Service Executive in Casualty Division of Chubb Insurance Malaysia Berhad. After graduating from the Technology University MARA in 1996, Asmida joined AFR Asia Pacific Ltd., previously known as PWS East Asia where she was an Underwriter in the Aviation, Casualty & Liability Division.
Asmida has significant experience of analyzing the account portfolios to be reinsured, performing preliminary underwriting assessment and participating in negotiations on reinsurance terms and conditions with brokers.
Asmida also held the position of Senior Executive, Facultative Division for Labuan Reinsurance Ltd. wherein she served for a decade handling Marine, Casualty, Liability and Miscellaneous class for both Domestic and Overseas markets.
It’s important to say that Asmida was a frequent participant of International Reinsurance Conferences prior to join Mandarin Re and had a lot of meetings and business relationship with brokers from all over the world.
Asmida will be focusing on the preliminary underwriting assessment, communication with brokers to obtain relevant underwriting information and further development of the Mandarin Re regional Portfolio.
